NHEG Radio Host Priscilena Shearon
Priscilena Shearon works as an educational consultant; with her many years of educational experience as a classroom teacher, she saw this as the perfect segue into a new venture. She believes in incorporating meaningful curriculum plans and developing young minds through results-oriented teaching. She is an advocate of all educational endeavors that anyone aspires to reach. Her lifelong dream is to obtain her Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership, Management and Policy. During her quiet time she enjoys listening to Audible (her current favorite author is Karin Slaughter) and cooking. One day she hopes to have her own web-based cooking show and line of Southern-based foods.
Her pride and joy are her two daughters. She is proud of all of the accomplishments they have made in their educational endeavors thus far; her older daughter is a children’s advocate and therapist while her younger daughter will soon graduate with her bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN).
Priscilena is very excited about returning to the radio talk show arena for NHEG. On her previous show she delved into Common Core myths and realities. She still holds true to her opinion that Common Core is not the best option for all those involved into today’s education arena. This time, her show will cater to uplifting women. Talking points will cover work-life balance, career opportunities and topics related to children and career, such as returning to work after maternity leave, how young women feel about working moms, deciding whether to go back to work or stay home, the unique struggles of a part-time working mom, what’s it really like to work full-time and be a mom, how children benefit from having a working mom and how to manage time wisely as a busy working mother. She’ll also share five ways working women really can have it all, the 12 best places a woman can travel alone (each location will be discussed in different podcast),10 ways moms can balance work and family, 11 quick time-management tips for working moms, the 10 secrets of an unflappable working mom and 10 tips to make life easier as a working mom.
